Peace

Listening to the sound of rain
Thinking of a former pain
One that's truly gone away
I tried too long to make it stay

Finding peace in family friends
New beginnings, Light descends
As I let go of older strife
To go on with a simpler life

Forgiveness seems to be the key
To grow, become a better me
Words unspoken left unsaid
Can fill you with unrealized dread

Don't you think this poem is great
The hour is getting very late
So I will leave you with the thought
What's been paid for was dearly bought

Glad to see that you've moved on,
Your hurt and dislike really gone.

Let forgiveness wash the hurt away,
Let peace and hope bring a bright new day.

Moving forward, ready to grow,
Much love and kindness yet to sow.

Now I too hope you liked this rhyme,
But I promise there is no next time,
For poetry I mostly hate,
A character flaw, a personality trait.
Who would argue? I have no knack,
And I too am ready to hit the sack.

...Oh you know mean, I really meant get a snack.
